DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE JULY 4th 1776.

Published by Cole & Co, New York. Undated but likely circa 1876 or earlier to celebrate the centenary of the signing of the Declaration July 4th, 1776.

Nice full margins with the illustrated, numbered key with corresponding names of all the signers present at lower edge of print.

Housed in it's original, Victorian Eastlake style frame. Etched burled walnut , bordered  by gilt and retaining it's original 19th century glass. 

The print was removed, cleaned and photographed and the original cedar backing was replaced with acid-free board. Additionally, minor restoration was performed to the original frame with gesso loss and large chips restored (particularly at the corners of the frame).

In very good condition with light age toning(from former cedar backing) and some light and minor foxing. A small 1 inch closed tear at the top edge margin. Original frame showing wear, rubbing to gilt edges of frame and overall charming aging remains. Otherwise a rare and important large historical print with clean, full margins.
