Beautifully bound in gilt tooled calf over watered silk covers, with 5 raised gilded bands.

72 Woodburytypes or carbon prints mounted to thick board stock.

Fine portraits of famouns figures of the era such as Oscar Wilde, Sarah Bernhardt, Lillie Langtry, The Prince of Wales (Future King Edward VII), Thomas Henry Huxley, Bret Harte, George Du Maurier, Lord Frederic Leighton, Emily Faithfull, plus many more!

Volumes measure 10 x 81/2 inches

Volume I: iv, 96 pages, 36 plates. Complete.
Volume II: iv, 96 pages, 36 plates. Complete.

Volumes show minor shelf and edge wear, rubbing to exteriors. Pages show some moderate foxing throughout. Interiors hinges cracked and exposed here and there but volumes remain well bound.
