The legendary masterpiece that directly shaped the minds of J.R.R. Tolkien and H.P. Lovecraft. First published in 1924, Lord Dunsany’s The King of Elfland’s Daughter is a foundational pillar of modern high fantasy. Decades before Middle-earth, Dunsany’s star-crossed romance between the mortal Alveric and the fairy princess Lirazel served as the ultimate blueprint for Tolkien's Arwen and Aragorn, while his hypnotic, otherworldly landscapes sparked Lovecraft’s finest cosmic visions. Written in a gorgeous, lyrical cadence, this spellbinding tale of a prince crossing the boundary into an elusive, magical realm is an absolute must-read for any true fan of classic fantasy. Add this poetic, dreamlike epic to your collection today and experience the magic that started it all!
