Chen Jun, born in 1957, is from Qingfeng County, Hebei Province. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Gongbi Painting Society, an art editor and associate art editor at the Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society, and a painter specializing in landscape painting. He entered the Tianjin Arts and Crafts School in 1974 and the Tianjin Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1988, majoring in Chinese painting.
His works have won numerous awards. His paintings of cats blend realistic Western painting techniques with meticulous brushwork in depicting animals, birds, and flowers. The cats are depicted with extreme accuracy and meticulous detail, combining traditional "silk fur" techniques with Western chiaroscuro techniques to fully express the texture and internal structure of the fur. In traditional Chinese painting, animals and plants, besides their inherent natural attributes, are also imbued with symbolic and metaphorical meanings by the painter.
His work "My Home" won the Excellence Award at the 2nd National Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Gongbi Painting. "Lotus Pond Before Rain" won the Third Prize at the 3rd National Exhibition of Chinese Gongbi Painting and was selected for the 8th National Art Exhibition of Outstanding Works.
