Volumes approach near fine condition. Some minor wear to exteriors with a few corners lightly bumped and occasional wear to leather on corners. Subtle slit or scratch to the leather of top corner of front cover, and a tiny to chip to top edge leather of the binding of Scenes of Parisian Life. Some of the volumes have a faint discoloration to the binding leather on the covers, primarily seen when holding at a certain angle under the right light (included are multiple photos of this). Small spot stain or spot of discoloration to front cover cloth of Sister Anne I. Interiors are also near fine with few of the bookmarkers detached but present and some have created an offsetting stain to the paper (included are multiple photos of this). Sporadic and minor soiling to cloth exteriors, some pages showing marginal toning/foxing, preliminary blank pages showing foxing.
Otherwise a beautifully conserved and complete set with square, tight bindings and smooth, supple leather with brilliant gilding.
