TRAGOEDIAE SELECTAE

Aeschyli, Sophoclis, Euripidis.
Cum duplici interpretatione Latina, vna ad verbu, altera carmine.
ENNIANAE Interpretationes locorú aliquot Euripidis.

Geneva: Henricum Stephanus [Henri Estienne], 1567.

5 x 3 inches and 23/8 thick.

[2 blank front leaves]+[1 title leaf]+[1-379 + 1-955]+[2 blank end leaves]. Complete.

In very good condition but needs a rebind. Surely originally bound in vellum, this 19th century rebind has detached, although spine and covers are present. The first 2 blank end leaves are detached with the front cover, the last blank leaf is also detached with the back cover, and the title leaf is detached and showing some wear. Few pages look to have been overly trimmed, likely at the time of binding, particularly noticeable with pages 827-831 and with leaf 827/828 being the worst(see photos). Occasional underlining and marginal notations, with minor and sporadic foxing to pages throughout. A light, faint stain to outer margin edge of pages 317 to approximately 379, mainly noticeable to few pages(see photos for worst case). Otherwise a complete copy, with a tight and square text block, of an early title.
