Beautifully executed watercolour on board, of a marine scene with a fishing boat moored at shore and Kingsbridge, South Devon in the distance. Housed in a period, solid walnut and gilt bordered frame.

Having owned and admired many of Shapland's works, this is an especially fine example displaying his skills with watercolours.

John Shapland, known primarily for his British scenes and landscapes, was the Principal of the Exeter School of Arts. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Paris, America, amongst many others worldwide.

In very good condition with the frame showing minor wear.
