Codex Vaticanus B 3773

Rome: Danesi, 1896. First edition. Rare.

A fine reproduction of the original manuscript, which is housed in the Vatican Library. Funded and produced by Loubat, it was apparently issued in a very limited issue of 50 unnumbered copies.

Volume and accompanying booklet both measures 57/8 x 5 inches

Measuring 284 inches approximately and nearly 24 feet when completely unfolded.

96 total pages or panels, with each page/panel (excluding wood covers) being double-sided. Both wooden covers display a panel pasted to their respective inner boards. Original '3773' labels pasted to front board, 1 on paper and the other on vellum. Complete and very rare.

Vatican 'BIBLIOTHECA APOSTOLICA VATICANA' and Loubat 'EDIZIONE DEL DUCA DE LOUBAT 1896' stamps to panels 49 and 95.

Booklet is complete with 23 numbered pages.

Manuscript and booklet are in very good condition. Minor wear to manuscript with the corner of vellum label starting to peel, otherwise tight and square. Booklet also well preserved with light wear to edges and a few small areas of soiling/staining.
